Clinical Nurse Leader

Providence Health Care is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Leader to coordinate the day-to-day operations of a designated nursing unit. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will supervise staff, monitor patient/resident acuity, and provide clinical guidance to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient/resident care activities, including supervising staff, monitoring work assignments, and providing critical input on employee performance.
- Monitor patient/resident acuity and adjust staffing levels to meet unit needs.
- Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff, students, and interdisciplinary team members, providing guidance on clinical practice issues and troubleshooting concerns.
- Participate in rounds/clinics, collaborating with nursing staff to assess patient/resident problems and needs, plan and prioritize nursing interventions, and implement and evaluate interventions.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to determine needs for consultation with Physicians, Nurse Consultants, and other disciplines or departments, and arrange for consultation when required.
- Act as a patient/resident and family advocate, communicating concerns to other members of the patient/resident care team and intervening as necessary.
- Perform direct nursing care by assuming responsibility for a patient/resident assignment.
- Provide input into the development, evaluation, and delivery of orientation, and participate in the orientation of new employees.
- Collaborate with the Operations Leader and nursing staff to identify specific learning needs of nurses and implement educational strategies and programs.
- Review policies, procedures, and reference materials, and provide feedback and input to the Operations Leader or designate for changes and modifications.
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Qualifications required of staff nurse in clinical area, plus three years of recent related experience in clinical specialty, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to supervise, communicate effectively, and apply decision-making and analytical skills.
- Ability to deal with and promote change, role model conflict resolution strategies, and match skills of staff with clinical needs.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
