About the Role

This is a key position within our organization, responsible for driving the growth and development of our various business channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the business relationships between Toromont and our authorized dealers, ensuring compliance with all Caterpillar, Perkins, and Toromont requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage B2B relationships with Toromont's dealer network, outlining and communicating operational requirements under the dealer agreement.
  • Collaborate with dealers to identify opportunities for improvement and work together to address any issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support growth plans and merchandising programs.
  • Define, evaluate, and develop the capabilities of dealers for both parts and service support.
  • Participate in distributor excellence activities and consult on industrial services growth plans.
  • Analyze and maintain service and aftermarket coverage across ECAN, identifying gaps or overlap in coverage.
  • Work with dealers throughout the onboarding, development, and cancellation of agreements.
  • Travel to dealers throughout ECAN is a requirement.
  • Collaborate with Toromont and dealer resources to identify and action joint marketing opportunities.
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and develop as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a business development or channel management role.
  • College diploma in business and/or engineering and/or mechanics or business degree.
  • Bilingual (English and French, spoken and written) is an asset.
  • Effective communicator and team player, ability to build rapport with others at any organizational level or role.
  • Sense of urgency, and an ability to recognize and act on customer and dealer priorities.
  • Ability to influence and gain buy-in without direct reporting authority, both with teams inside and outside of Toromont's organization.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to solve problems involving multiple organizations.
  • Knowledge of service operations, including technician and customer communication, dispatch processes, administration of work orders and warranty.
