We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

About the Role

As a critical care mental health nurse specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered care to individuals with complex mental health needs. Your expertise will be essential in conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and developing effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with interprofessional teams
  • Utilize advanced assessment and counseling skills to support patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and independently provide high-quality care

Requirements:

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification and ACLS certification (if applicable)
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in acute psychiatric nursing or related field
  • Completion of Medication Administration certification and Physical Assessment certification with excellent physical assessment skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian Standards for Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and relevant legislation
  • Mental Health Assessment course is preferred, and RPNAO membership is an asset

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 based on relevant experience and qualifications.
