At Emil Anderson Equipment, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in West Kelowna, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and dump trucks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, with a focus on safety and efficiency. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will have excellent communication skills.

The Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Inspecting mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear;
  • Performing service repairs and preventative maintenance;
  • Replacing and/or repairing worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts;
  • Operating transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction;
  • Completing necessary documentation and maintaining accurate reports;
  • Performing other tasks as required.

The Qualifications for this role include:

  • Comfortable working with and around machinery;
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools in a safe manner;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees and supervisors;
  • Ability to work in a team-focused environment with a positive attitude;
  • Natural ability to solve problems;
  • Must have a valid motor vehicles inspector license;
  • Must have a valid BC driver's license with air endorsement and a clean abstract;
  • Comfortable assisting apprentices in learning and developing their skills in the trade;
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced environment;
  • Previous experience working as a Service Technician or other related experience with heavy equipment is considered an asset;
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is considered an asset;
  • CVIP License is considered an asset.

Union wages and benefits apply to this role, with a wage range of $38-$45/hr. The wage range for this position will be discussed during the interview stage.
