Job Title: Shop Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Shop Supervisor to join our maintenance division in West Kelowna, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our equipment repairs and maintenance operations meet the highest quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the repair and maintenance of construction equipment and highway truck fleet, ensuring repairs and quality are of the highest standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the Emil Anderson Group's health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage risks and hazards in the shop and yard.
  • Perform safety inspections and rectify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Set and enforce expectations for health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Participate in the creation and review of safety documents and involvement in incident investigations.
  • Oversee compliance with company Safety Programs such as Field Level Hazard Assessments and Job Safe Work Procedures.
  • Communicate with the Operations Group to determine maintenance priorities for the maintenance team.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for our shop technicians and apprentices.
  • Plan and prioritize, in conjunction with Operations, equipment repairs to maximize fleet availability.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Emil Anderson Operation Groups, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for performance management of supervised staff in consultation with Emil Anderson leadership.
  • Actively seek opportunities for continual improvement of the maintenance program.
  • Perform quality checks on repaired equipment before units are returned to service.
  • Lead morning toolbox and safety meetings, ensuring safety communications to the shop staff.

Requirements:

  • Preferred 5-10 years of experience in heavy construction and highway truck repair, including several years in a leadership capacity.
  • Red Seal Mechanic or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of equipment maintenance best practices.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relating to the National Safety Code.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer skills are required – Excel, Outlook, company-specific software.

Work Conditions:

  • Work location is based in West Kelowna, BC. Must be willing and able to relocate to West Kelowna, BC.
  • After-hours and weekend monitoring of your phone will be required.

Salary:

The salary range for this position will be discussed during the interview stage, taking into consideration candidate qualifications and experience. $90-$110k Annually.
