Position Overview

Emil Anderson Equipment is seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team in West Kelowna, BC. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work with a variety of heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and dump trucks.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our construction equipment, ensuring it is in top working condition. This involves inspecting equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear, performing service repairs and preventative maintenance, and replacing or repairing worn or damaged parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect mechanical equipment to identify damage, defects, or wear
  • Perform service repairs and maintenance to ensure equipment is in working condition
  • Replace or repair worn or damaged mechanical parts
  • Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate its function or malfunction
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate reports
  • Perform other tasks as required by the team or supervisor

Requirements

  • Ability to work comfortably with and around heavy machinery
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely
  • Effective communication skills to work with fellow employees and supervisors
  • Ability to work in a team-focused environment with a positive attitude
  • Natural problem-solving skills
  • Valid motor vehicle inspector license
  • Valid BC driver's license with air endorsement and a clean abstract
  • Comfortable assisting apprentices in learning and developing their skills
  • Previous experience as a Service Technician or related experience with heavy equipment is an asset
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience is an asset
  • CVIP License is considered an asset
  • Comfortable using a computer-based equipment tracking system
