About the Role:

The Ottawa Humane Society is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join their team. This individual will be responsible for providing strategic human resources leadership to support the organization’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing HR operations, developing and implementing HR strategies, and building strong relationships with employees and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support business objectives
  • Manage HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and training
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement organizational change initiatives
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Manage and report on HR metrics and analytics

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary school diploma or certificate in a related field – human resources management preferred
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in human resources management
  • Minimum of one year staff management experience
  • Experience working in labour relations and unionized environments
  • Experience with HRIS systems – ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required
