Job Description:

Corporate Financial Analysis Role

This Corporate Financial Analyst position is based in Toronto and involves working with our client to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and analysis. The ideal candidate will have +4 years of accounting experience, an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • Prepare and record journal entries, maintaining the general ledger for all corporate entities.
  • Conduct quarterly reconciliations and analyses of all accruals and balances.
  • Research, recommend, and implement updates in accordance with relevant Canadian GAAP.

Cash Management Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and oversight of timely and accurate invoice payments and collections.
  • Perform cash flow analyses, forecasting, and budgeting for the Corporate group.
  • Manage bank wiring instructions, cash deposits, and bank statement reconciliations.

Financial Reporting Requirements:

  • Generate timely quarterly and annual financial statements, including necessary note disclosures, per Canadian GAAP.
  • Assist with the annual audit of Corporate financial statements as needed.
  • Help prepare working papers for compliance reporting (e.g., GST/HST, Income Tax, FATCA, CRS, etc.).
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST/HST returns.

Operations Support:

  • Help maintain vendor records and address vendor-related issues.
  • Prepare and review invoices and expense allocations for accuracy.
  • Oversee and process intercompany reimbursements.
  • Identify opportunities and support initiatives to enhance processes, strengthen controls, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve scalability.

The Successful Applicant:

  • +4 years Accounting experience.
  • An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; Professional Designation (CPA) preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and reporting under Canadian GAAP or IFRS.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency with a high level of aptitude for a wide range of computer applications.
  • Experience in managing accounting and reporting functions with daily and monthly deliverables.
