Job Title: Payroll Technician

At Fed Finance, we are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Technician to join our team. As a Payroll Technician, you will be responsible for collecting and sending payroll information to our payroll provider, receiving, analyzing, and verifying payroll documents, and processing payroll and employee file changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and send payroll information to payroll provider
  • Receive, analyze, and verify payroll documents
  • Process payroll and employee file changes (creation, termination, transfer, schedule changes)
  • Follow up on employee termination and reactivation files
  • Follow up on employee probation periods
  • Prepare Records of Employment and complete Employment Insurance Office survey forms
  • Proactively monitor mandatory training schedules and general attendance in collaboration with the production department
  • Register employees for insurance and RRSPs and make changes when necessary
  • Send reports requested by accounting, HR, and the union
  • Respond to questions and requests from employees, managers, and external organizations regarding payroll data for unionized personnel

Requirements:

  • DEC (Desirable)
  • 5 years of experience in payroll (Required)

Selection Process:

Initial interview with Fiona Moulin, recruitment consultant, followed by a second interview with the human resources manager.
