About the Role

Challenger Motor Freight Inc. is a leading North American freight transportation company seeking a highly skilled Treasury Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate cash flow reporting and forecasts for company management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze cash flow reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and update extended spending, receipts, and billing forecasts for budget and ongoing planning
  • Verify and pay payroll taxes and other financial obligations
  • Communicate regularly with internal staff on bank discrepancies and outstanding items
  • Review and analyze general ledger accounts related to Accounts Receivable and reserves
  • Maintain tracking records for Debt and Leases
  • Bookkeeping for CJT Investments
  • Respond to audit inquiries regarding cash/bank related issues
  • Calculate and allocate line of credit monthly interest to respective entities
  • Act as a liaison to the bank for various banking issues
Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 2-3 years' of relevant working experience
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products and strong computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks
  • Ability to recognize patterns and analyze large sets of historical data to continuously improve forecasting tools
  • Strong self-discipline and initiative
  • Creative and effective problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
