Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Assembly Technician to join our team at EssilorLuxottica Group. As an Optical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and assembling lenses on baskets, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carefully handle lenses to avoid scratches and damage
  • Sort lenses onto racks by size and required coating
  • Inspect baskets and hangers for good condition before use
  • Clip lenses securely and correctly onto baskets
  • Inspect bifocal lenses for correctness before putting them into the machine
  • Load and empty baskets from the machine as needed
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the deionized water bath
  • Clean the machine with proper personal protective equipment
  • Verify lenses match prescriptions after training
  • Visually inspect lenses for quality using the Essilor tolerance chart and record information
  • Transfer lenses from baskets onto trays for oven curing
  • Separate rejected lenses from approved ones for rework according to protocol
  • Use a barcode reader to scan prescriptions and track jobs
  • Inform team leaders of non-conformities
  • Meet physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, lifting heavy objects, and handling chemicals
  • Assist within the operations department as needed
Requirements
  • Job experience may be considered in place of a high school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in English (ability to read, write, and speak fluently)
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment
  • Depth perception, fine motor skills, and manual dexterity
  • Ability to handle multiple requests effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid problem-solving skills
