Job Title: Optical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Optical Technician to join our team at BMV Optical Technologies Inc.

Job Summary:

The Optical Technician will be responsible for operating ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments, setting up and dismantling equipment, and organizing and maintaining inventory. The ideal candidate will have excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments
  • Set up and dismantle equipment
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs
  • Cut and edge lenses and fit lenses into frames
  • Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or optical laboratory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Work Environment:

The Optical Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a physically demanding environment and have excellent communication skills.
