Job Summary
Thales is seeking an experienced IT Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Fredericton, New Brunswick. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN. You will also be responsible for configuring and managing network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Infrastructure Management
- Design and implement network infrastructure to meet business requirements.
- Manage network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols and policies.
- Server Management
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of servers.
- Manage server hardware, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Ensure server backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place, tested, and effective.
- Monitor server performance and optimize as necessary.
- General IT Management
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT infrastructure and procedures.
- Manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement and support.
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff as needed.
- Interaction with Customers and Partners
- Lead technical workshops to support risk assessments activities.
- Coordinate and support customer's project team, site engineers, and management with project deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Min 5 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on servers and network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Hands-on experience in building, troubleshooting, integration and configuration, testing, cabling, and network electronics systems.
- Experience in server and network monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware and operating systems (Windows and Linux), experience with Virtualization systems (VMware, Hyper-V), and experience with cloud computing platforms (Google, AWS, Azure).
