Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Barn Worker at HyLife Foods LP. As a key member of our farm operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our barns and facilities, and contributing to the overall success of our farm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of time
  • Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and healthy environment
  • Handle animals with care and attention to detail, monitoring their health and well-being
  • Feed and tend to animals, ensuring their nutritional needs are met
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Maintain quality control and production records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, maintaining a clean and organized environment
  • Maintain work records and logs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods, ensuring efficient and safe operations
  • Collect and analyze data and samples, providing valuable insights to the farm operations team
  • Document work completed, ensuring accurate and detailed records
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physically demanding work, requiring stamina and endurance
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
  • Large workload with overtime required
  • Sound discrimination and ability to work in a noisy environment
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling as required
Working Conditions

The Barn Worker will work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with a focus on animal care and farm operations. The work will involve working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, as well as in confined spaces such as barns and pens. The Barn Worker will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
