Cardiac Care Specialist

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Coronary Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients with cardiac conditions, including those experiencing cardiac events such as acute coronary syndromes and cardiac arrhythmias.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced assessment and documentation of patients with cardiac conditions
- Interpret arrhythmias and administer defibrillation and temporary pacemakers as needed
- Monitor hemodynamic parameters and administer high alert medications
- Set up and assist with bedside procedures such as cardiac line insertions
- Provide complex cardiac patient care, including patients requiring inotropes and thrombolytic therapy
- Monitor and transport cardiac patients for inter-facility transfers and pre and post cardiac procedures
- Provide patient education on cardiac medications and pre/post procedure expectations
- Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BScN (preferred)
- Completion of Level 2 Critical Care Certificate or equivalent from an accredited academic institution (preferred)
- Completion of Cardiology Nursing – level 3 course (required)
- Current/recent 1 - 2 years Adult Medical/Surgical experience
- Current BCLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate (preferred)
