The University of British Columbia invites applications for the position of Head, Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics. This is a senior academic leadership role that requires a strong track record of leadership, research, and education in the field of anesthesiology, pharmacology, and therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership to the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics
- Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives that align with the Faculty of Medicine's strategic plan
- Lead and manage a team of faculty members, staff, and students to achieve departmental goals
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and equity in the department
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources
- Represent the department at Faculty of Medicine and University-wide levels
- Eligibility for licensure in BC to practice anesthesiology
- Proven track record of leadership in a clinical or academic setting
- Strong research and education background in anesthesiology, pharmacology, and therapeutics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
