Indigenous People and Human Services Educator

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified individual to teach the course SOCW 3540 - Indigenous People and Human Services. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work, with a preference for a PhD or earned doctorate in a relevant discipline and a graduate degree in social work.
The position requires a minimum of five years of related practice experience with Indigenous peoples and communities, as well as lived experience of Indigenous communities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and have demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods.
This position involves teaching at the scheduled time Wednesday 5:30-8:30 PM. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a culturally appropriate curriculum and promoting intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect among students.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $**80,000** per year, based on industry standards for similar positions in the region. This amount may vary depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
