Job Title: System Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our team at Forge Consulting Group. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical coordination, integration, and management of all sub-systems within upcoming NDT product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead System Architecture: Define system architecture, subsystem interfaces, and integration strategies for new non-destructive testing products.
  2. Drive Design and Development: Develop electronic systems and components, offering technical guidance and expertise to ensure adherence to performance, reliability, and quality standards.
  3. Manage Technical Requirements: Ensure alignment with customer needs and industry standards by managing technical product requirements and specifications.
  4. Risk Analysis and FMEA: Conduct risk analysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for the product, identifying potential failure modes, assessing their impact, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  5. Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability throughout the product development lifecycle.
  6. System-Level Documentation: Develop and maintain system-level documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface control documents, and technical specifications.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as hardware, software, and firmware engineers, to ensure smooth integration of sub-systems and components.
  8. Design Reviews and Technical Meetings: Lead regular design reviews and technical meetings to monitor progress, identify issues, and resolve technical challenges.
  9. Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and coach junior engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications:

  1. Systems Architecture Expertise: Demonstrated expertise (3 years) in Systems Architecture/Systems Engineering.
  2. Design and Development Experience: Proven track record (5 years) in designing, developing, and testing high-speed digital and analog circuits.
  3. System Architecture Design: Proficient in system architecture design, encompassing hardware, software, and firmware integration.
  4. Risk Analysis Methodologies: Skilled in risk analysis methodologies, such as FMEA, with practical application in product development.
  5. Firmware Development: Experience in firmware development using C/C++ within embedded environments.
  6. Electronic Communication Standards: Familiarity with prevalent electronic communication standards: USB, I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485.
  7. Linux Knowledge: Knowledge of Linux is advantageous.
  8. Project Management: Strong project management acumen, including task prioritization, resource allocation, and effective management of schedules and budgets.
  9. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, adept at articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and facilitating constructive discussions.
  10. Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated leadership qualities, characterized by a proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
