Nursing Care Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team at Romko Residences LTD. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Assist with serving meal trays and feeding patients
  • Deliver messages, reports, and specimens between departments
  • Maintain patients' rooms, including making beds and ensuring a clean environment
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide support as needed
  • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as prescribed
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure a well-stocked environment
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
  • Transport patients between care facilities and provide support during transfers
  • Answer call signals and respond to patients' needs in a timely and compassionate manner
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations and provide support until medical help arrives
Certifications and Qualifications:
  • Health Care Aide Certificate
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in fast-paced environments
  • Perform repetitive tasks and maintain attention to detail
  • Work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and maintain a safe environment
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
