About the Role:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Specialist to join our team. As a Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and executing daily shipments, communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods, and managing the day-to-day routine of preparing shipping documents, including scheduling and tracking shipments, negotiating with freight carriers, and managing the financial aspects of shipping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute daily shipments
  • Prepare and manage shipping documents, including commercial invoices and B13 declarations
  • Schedule and coordinate pickup and delivery times
  • Track and report the status of shipments until delivery
  • Work with international shippers, freight carriers, and distributors to manage schedules
  • Request and manage quotes and formulate recommendations
  • Resolve freight/exception discrepancies within tight deadlines
  • Manage claims with freight carriers due to damage
  • Respond to internal/external customer inquiries in a professional manner, maintaining positive and productive relationships
  • Maintain close relationships with multiple freight carriers
  • Ensure shipping and customs documents are completed and approved prior to transport
  • Keep up-to-date shipping and POD records for reference purposes

Administrative and Financial Logistics Management:

  • Perform logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating logistics actions necessary to achieve company objectives
  • Practical knowledge of tax rates, customs duties, and tariffs of each country based on company products
  • Plan and coordinate the pickup, transport, and delivery of shipments, including but not limited to:
    • Unserviceable units to repair suppliers
    • Return of repaired units to owner/client
    • Purchased goods to point of use of client
    • Finished production products to final client
    • Return shipments to supplier (RTV)
  • Recognize potential logistics issues and recommend appropriate solutions to management
  • Make recommendations to optimize and improve shipment-related activities and procedures
  • Maintain and perform data entry in the use of the integrated management software (ERP) to aid in material management
  • Measure and report periodic performance indicators as defined

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • More than 5 years of experience in freight transport/commercial industry
  • Diploma in Logistics/Transport or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of import/export procedures and documentation
  • Sound understanding of INCOTERMS and SH codes
  • Practical knowledge of controlled goods or ITAR licenses preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Bilingual in French and English, oral and written
  • Autonomous, versatile, and flexible
  • High motivation, sense of organization, and detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Time management, priority setting
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense sector is an asset

Admissibility Criteria (mandatory):

  • Be eligible for registration in the Controlled Goods Program
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Reliability and Security Level II (SECRET) clearance from the Canadian government
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Non-transportation accessible location, vehicle/carpooling required
