We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the pre and post-analytical phases of testing, including specimen procurement, data entry, media preparation, and customer service activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with good judgment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, adhering to safety and infection prevention procedures, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
This is a permanent, part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $26.27. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent, and current registration with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS). You will also need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and access to reliable transportation.
