Role Summary

As a Trust Associate with Scotiabank's Centralized Trust Administration Group, you will provide proactive administrative and client service support to Senior Trust Associates and Scotiabank Relationship Managers with the day-to-day management, oversight, and account administration for client, beneficiary and Co-Trustee relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Administration and Relationship Management Support
  • Assist the Senior Trust Associate with providing a best-in-class, proactive and personalized client experience to high net worth clients and beneficiaries, exemplified by timely and accurate account administration coupled with demonstrated technical expertise, personal integrity and an ability to respond to stated and unstated client needs and concerns.
Additional Accountabilities
  • Adheres and implements centralized functions as published to provide additional support to all Scotiabank branches, with accuracy and efficiency. Accurately operate within Scotiabank systems (i.e. Estate Settlement, Broadridge) according to procedures.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Ensuring thorough knowledge of, and strict adherence to, the Bank's Global Sales Practices.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Requirements

  1. Proactive with a proven track record of providing a best in class client experience
  2. Proven aptitude to learn new concepts and readily apply them to day to day tasks
  3. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  4. Strong time management skills and a proven ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bilingualism - French/English
  2. High School Diploma
  3. Enrolment in Financial Industry courses
  4. CSC, IFIC, STEP Canada, ICB.
  5. Working knowledge of asset management and administrative procedures
  6. Strong PC Skills
  7. Basic knowledge of Trust Accounting principles
