Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Coil Slitter Operator to join our team at Inspiretci. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our slitting machines to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain slitting machines and measuring devices to ensure optimal performance and detect any defects or malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret work orders to determine machine setup and material requirements, and ensure that materials meet customer quality standards.
  • Operate the main control panel and monitor the flow of material through the machine to detect any irregularities or malfunctions.
  • Coordinate and assist in the setup and changeover of new setups for coils, and measure material dimensions using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to ensure product quality.
  • Secure coils at the end of the slitting process and assist maintenance in troubleshooting malfunctions or completing preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Remove scrap from the machine and empty the hopper as required.
  • Enter data onto source documents and into the computer following the format displayed on screen.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a steel coil slitter operator is required.
  • Ability to perform complete setup and operational tasks of the slitting machine.
  • Ability to use micrometers and calipers as needed.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
