Key Responsibilities:
- Verify Production Run Package information for accuracy.
- Verify correct coils are supplied for the production run performing required verification checks.
- Ensure slitter set up is correct including monitoring equipment.
- Process coils ensuring quality and customer tolerances are adhered to.
- Monitor and inspect equipment for safe operation and/or any maintenance requirements.
- Communicate effectively with all employees, supervisors, and plant managers in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate good housekeeping and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- At least 1 year of experience operating production machinery in a metals/steel processing environment.
- Previous experience in warehouse/inventory environments is an asset.
- Basic math and numeracy skills are required as calculations are part of the role.
- Ability to read, write, understand and comply with safety regulations, work directions and training manuals is required.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs, stand, sit, bend, reach for the duration of a shift is required.
- Team-oriented, reliable, organized and eager to learn.
- Attention to detail and quality standards.
- Crane and/or forklift license is preferred.
