Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Manulife Insurance Malaysia. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our data systems and architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Develop Data Pipelines
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant services to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
Develop and Maintain Data ArchitectureDevelop and maintain the company's data architecture, including data models, schemas, and data dictionaries, to ensure data quality and consistency.
Integrate Data from Various SourcesIntegrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency, and prepare it for analytical and operational use.
Ensure Data GovernanceFollow consistency of data governance policies and processes to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance.
Collaborate with Data ProfessionalsCollaborate with other data professionals, including data scientists, analysts, and business team members, to understand data requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
Stay Up-to-Date with Latest Tools and TechnologiesStay up to date with the latest tools and technologies and see opportunities to enhance Manulife's data infrastructure.
Requirements- 4+ Years of Experience as Data Engineer
4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud computing and data engineering.
Experience in Building and Operationalizing Data PipelinesExperience in building and operationalizing data pipelines in cloud MS Azure.
Experience in Automating Data PipelinesExperience in automating data pipelines and familiarity with DevOps and CICD pipelines.
Good Working Knowledge of MS Azure ServicesGood working knowledge of MS Azure services (SQL Queries, ADLS gen 2, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, SQL Server) to design a data ecosystem.
Good Knowledge of Data Warehousing ConceptsGood knowledge of data warehousing concepts and relational data modeling.
Familiarity with Programming LanguagesFamiliarity with programming in both compiled languages (Java, Scala) and scripting languages (Python, SQL, R).
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Solutioning SkillsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and solutioning skills to design and develop data pipelines and data architecture.
Capacity for Constant LearningA capacity for constant learning from both success and failure, remaining open to change and continuous improvement.
Understanding of Agile Scrum MethodologiesUnderstanding of Agile scrum methodologies and experience of working in an Agile team, with exposure to and working understanding of collaboration tools like Teams, JIRA, Mural.
Experience in Data Processing, Performance Analysis, Tuning, and Capacity PlanningExperience in data processing, performance analysis, tuning, and capacity planning.
Familiarity with Production Release and Operational Support ModelFamiliarity with production release and operational support model.

The salary range should be between
$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
