Physiotherapist - Patient Care Specialist

Job Summary
The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our team. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of patients by planning and implementing individually designed programs of physical treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather patient information, including observing and interviewing the patient and essential care partners.
- Conduct initial screening and assessment protocols to assess patients' physical, functional, psychosocial, perceptual, and cognitive status.
- Analyze collected data to develop a clinical impression, formulate a treatment plan, and consultation recommendations.
- Communicate the results of the assessment/clinical impression to the patient, essential care partners, and healthcare team.
- Implement modifications and shifts in individualized treatment programs to reflect the patient's changing needs.
- Coordinate and/or participate in the education of students/learners, hospital staff, and the community.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality indicators.
- Critically appraise, choose, and implement outcome measures to assess the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Science (Physiotherapy) or recognized equivalent based on Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
- Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
- Minimum One (1) year related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Complies with the legislation outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act (1991).
- Complies with the Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job.
- Demonstrates competence with departmental and hospital safety, emergency, and infection prevention and control procedures.
- Recognizes and acts within the scope and limitations of the physiotherapist.
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and to function in an independent, self-directed manner.
