Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled plumbing work, including installation, construction, alteration, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and service of plumbing equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs natural gas lines, appliances, equipment, and accessories in accordance with the BC Gas Safety Code.
  • Inspects and tests cross-connection control devices, such as reduced pressure backflow assemblies, double check valve assemblies, and pressure vacuum breaker assemblies.
  • Lays out areas to be renovated with new plumbing installations, designing, measuring, marking, and identifying new services and tie-in points consistent with applicable codes.
  • Coordinates projects with user departments and other trades, assigning work tasks to designated staff and providing related training and orientation.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools, completing related reports and records, and recommending purchase of related supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC.
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, BC Section.
  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is also required.
