Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Systems Technician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing equipment and systems.


Key Responsibilities



  • Install, test, maintain, and repair plumbing equipment and systems, including natural gas lines, appliances, and accessories
  • Inspect and test cross-connection control devices, such as reduced pressure backflow assemblies and double check valve assemblies
  • Lay out areas to be renovated with new plumbing installations, designing, measuring, marking, and identifying new services and tie-in points
  • Coordinate projects with user departments and other trades, assigning work tasks to designated staff and providing related training and orientation
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools, completing related reports and records, and recommending purchase of related supplies and equipment

Requirements



  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, BC Section
  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, deal effectively with others, and read and interpret blueprint, drawings, and specifications
