Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lumber Operations Manager to join our team at Coast Builders Rona. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our lumber yard, ensuring efficient and effective management of staff, resources, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Directing and controlling daily operations of the lumber yard, including supervising staff and coordinating activities to meet production targets.
  • Evaluating daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Planning and organizing daily operations, including scheduling staff, managing inventory, and coordinating logistics.
  • Managing staff and assigning duties to ensure optimal resource allocation and maximum productivity.
  • Determining merchandise and services to be sold, including selecting and procuring materials for resale.
  • Locating and purchasing materials for resale, including negotiating with suppliers and vendors.
  • Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses to ensure financial sustainability and profitability.
  • Determine staffing requirements and make recommendations for hiring or training new staff members.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role or related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, plan and organize events, and coordinate logistics.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity.
