Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lumber Yard Operations Manager to join our team at Coast Builders Rona. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our lumber yard, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and control daily operations, including supervising staff and assigning duties.
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including managing inventory and supplies.
  • Manage staff and assign duties, including recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff and/or volunteers.
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold, including locating, selecting, and procuring merchandise for resale.
  • Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses, including determining staffing requirements.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in a related field, including lumber yard operations and management.
  • College/CEGEP education or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, including the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Knowledge of inventory control software and point of sale systems.
