Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Master Carpenter Technician to join our team at Golderado Contracting Corp.

About the Job

This is a permanent, full-time position with an estimated hourly salary of $28.57-$37.68, based on industry standards in Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints and determining work requirements, preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining various materials, including wood and steel.

They will also be expected to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect walls and roof systems, fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, as well as survey building locations and levels.

In addition, the Master Carpenter Technician will instruct apprentices and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • a strong understanding of carpentry principles and practices;
  • experience working at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments;
  • the ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions;
  • excellent problem-solving and communication skills;
  • a valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate;
  • a secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience;
  • a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of employment;
