Job Title: Education Assistant

Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant to work alongside primary aged children living with ASD. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our students and contribute to a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the classroom Teacher and Learning Support team to provide individualized support to students with ASD.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting students with ASD.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture by promoting social skills, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy among students.
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation to ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., education, psychology, social work).
  • Experience working with children with ASD or other exceptionalities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
