Senior Financial Reporting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Liberty Utilities. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for external financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review external financial reports, including consolidated financial statements and notes to the financial statements.
- Collaborate with divisional teams to prepare quarterly and annual standalone legal entities financial statements.
- Provide support to the external audit process, ensuring timely completion of financial and SOX audits.
- Build relationships with divisional and cross-functional finance teams to ensure seamless consolidation and reporting.
- Work with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure timely and error-free transaction recording and reporting.
- Identify and execute process improvement initiatives, driving best practices and efficiency.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate year-end audits and quarterly reviews.
- Provide thought leadership in solving complex problems and developing effective processes.
- CPA designation
- Minimum 5 years' experience in financial reporting and auditing
- University degree in business or commerce
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications
- Experience with HFM and SAP
- Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP
- Proven track record of timely delivery and collaborative approach
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and enthusiastic team player
