Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Liberty Utilities. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for external financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review external financial reports, including consolidated financial statements and notes to the financial statements.
  • Collaborate with divisional teams to prepare quarterly and annual standalone legal entities financial statements.
  • Provide support to the external audit process, ensuring timely completion of financial and SOX audits.
  • Build relationships with divisional and cross-functional finance teams to ensure seamless consolidation and reporting.
  • Work with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure timely and error-free transaction recording and reporting.
  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives, driving best practices and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate year-end audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Provide thought leadership in solving complex problems and developing effective processes.
Requirements
  • CPA designation
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial reporting and auditing
  • University degree in business or commerce
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Experience with HFM and SAP
  • Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proven track record of timely delivery and collaborative approach
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and enthusiastic team player
