Claims Director

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Director to lead our Casualty and Litigation team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for directing all activities of the claim's unit, ensuring efficient, prompt, and courteous service to claimants, insureds, and brokers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership, coaching, and motivation to team members to ensure service and quality objectives are met
- Direct the development and execution of the corporate and regional business plans, and ensure the department's strategies contribute to corporate objectives
- Ensure effective and efficient operation by enhancing workflow and operational procedures
- Drive a customer-centric culture
- Manage Disposition Programs, including settlement conferences, mediation, internal committee file reviews, and alternate dispute resolution techniques
- Direct activities of defense counsel to ensure compliance with Northbridge's litigation best practices
- Monitor large and complex losses, providing coaching, input, and direction to drive strategy
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Education in an Insurance focused program or related program
- Completed or working towards the CIP designation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the property and casualty industry handling complex claims
- A minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite
- Ability to clearly communicate with Claimants, Brokers, and Legal Counsel
