Claims Director, Casualty and Litigation

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Director to join our Casualty and Litigation team at Northbridge Financial Corporation. As a Claims Director, you will be responsible for directing all activities of the claim's unit through effective leadership and training of the adjusting staff to ensure service and quality objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing effective leadership, coaching, and motivation to team members to ensure service and quality objectives are met
- Directing the development and execution of the corporate and regional business plans, and ensuring the department's strategies contribute to corporate objectives
- Ensuring effective and efficient operation by enhancing workflow and operational procedures
- Driving a customer-centric culture
- Managing Disposition Programs (i.e., settlement conferences, mediation, internal committee file reviews, and alternate dispute resolution techniques)
- Directing activities of defense counsel to ensure compliance with Northbridge's litigation best practices.
- Monitoring large and complex losses, providing coaching, input, and direction to drive strategy
Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Education in an Insurance focused program or related program
- Completed or working towards the CIP designation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the property and casualty industry handling complex claims
- A minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong technical skills with MS Office Suite
- Ability to clearly communicate with Claimants, Brokers, and Legal Counsel
