Clinical Support Worker

Crosstown Clinic is a pioneering healthcare facility that provides innovative addiction care services. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Worker to join our team.
Job DescriptionThe Clinical Support Worker will play a vital role in supporting clients and staff within the clinic. Key responsibilities include:
- Observing and monitoring clients' behavioral and physical changes
- Undertaking security tasks to ensure a safe environment
- Handling clerical duties such as scheduling, client registration, and database maintenance
This role is crucial in the supportive framework of Crosstown Clinic's innovative approach to addiction care.
Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Grade 12, completion of Community Support Worker, Addictions Counselling Skills or Mental Health Worker Certificate, plus one year of recent, related experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
- Knowledge of addiction/drug abuse and harm reduction
- Ability to handle and diffuse conflict
The Clinical Support Worker will be responsible for:
- Performing reception duties, including meeting and greeting clients and establishing a rapport
- Observing, monitoring, and documenting changes in clients' physical and cognitive status
- Performing general word processing and data entry functions
- Participating in the management of emergency situations
- Working with the clinic team to manage the clinic environment
- Accompanying clients to appointments
- Running errands and providing support in the clinic/treatment rooms
- Maintaining inventories of clinic supplies and equipment
- Providing general information and literature to clients
- Ordering health promotion materials
- Maintaining filing systems
- Assisting with security functions
- Assisting with client intake
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives
As per the current Public Health Orders, all employees working for Providence Health Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
