Financial Analyst for Construction Projects

PCL Construction is a leading general contracting organization committed to building better communities. We're looking for a skilled Project Accountant to join our Edmonton Industrial Management office.

Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile and process all project-related accounts payable and other costing allocations, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Assemble client billing packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions, following up to ensure timely payment and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Subcontract Management: review subcontractor invoices, audit their accuracy, and ensure timely payment within contract terms, fostering strong partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in monthly project forecast review meetings for assigned projects, providing input on project financial status and contributing to informed decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners, ensuring seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry, with knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • A postsecondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as accounting or finance, is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners.
  • Multitasking, prioritization, and teamwork are critical skills for success in this role.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and requirements are necessary for this position.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Excel and knowledge of accounting software, specifically Oracle/E1, are assets.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, and career development programs.
