Automobile Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Automobile Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team at Aviva. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in growing our book of business by leveraging your technical skills and customer relationships to quote and place new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners to provide best-in-class customer service.
- Underwrite and retain our renewal base, prioritizing workflow to meet our service standards and exercising authority levels as required.
- Review inspections and provide coaching/training to junior staff when opportunities arise.
- Collaborate with various departments, including claims and business development, to ensure a comprehensive approach to underwriting risk and control.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- CIP or working towards would be considered an asset.
- Strong communication, telephony, and written skills.
- Technical skill and sound judgment required.
- Solutions-oriented approach and desire to win with our customers.
- Attention to detail and great organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and within the team dynamic.
