**About the Role:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automobile Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team at Aviva. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for growing our book of business profitably by leveraging customer relationships, technical skills, and great judgment to quote and place new business.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Grow our book of business profitably by leveraging customer relationships, technical skills, and great judgment to quote and place new business.
- Create and maintain excellent relationships with our broker partners, providing best-in-class customer service.
- Underwrite and retain our renewal base, prioritizing workflow to our service standards, and being responsible for the more complex endorsement activities in accordance with your authority levels.
- Review inspections and coach/train more junior staff when opportunities arise.
- Provide feedback to improve and simplify processes, resulting in effective and efficient results, while maintaining our core values and capabilities.
- Collaborate with various departments within our group, such as claims and business development, to enable a comprehensive approach to underwriting risk and control.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- CIP or working towards would be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, excellent telephony skills, and written skills.
- Technical skill and sound judgment required.
- Solutions-oriented approach and desire to win with our customers.
- Attention to detail is essential, along with great organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and within the team dynamic.
