**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automobile Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team at Aviva. As an Automobile Underwriter, you will play a critical role in growing our book of business by leveraging customer relationships, technical skills, and great judgment to quote and place new business.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Grow our book of business profitably by leveraging customer relationships, technical skills, and great judgment to quote and place new business.
  • Create and maintain excellent relationships with our broker partners, providing best-in-class customer service.
  • Underwrite and retain our renewal base, prioritizing workflow to our service standards, and being responsible for the more complex endorsement activities in accordance with your authority levels.
  • Review inspections and coach/train more junior staff when opportunities arise.
  • Provide feedback to improve and simplify processes, resulting in effective and efficient results, while maintaining our core values and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with various departments within our group, such as claims and business development, to enable a comprehensive approach to underwriting risk and control.

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • CIP or working towards would be considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, excellent telephony skills, and written skills.
  • Technical skills and sound judgment required.
  • Solutions-oriented approach and desire to win with our customers.
  • Attention to detail is essential, along with great organization and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within the team dynamic.
