About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a key member of our Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to children and youth in our province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in pediatric emergency medicine, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and evidence-based medicine.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance pediatric emergency medicine research, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on pediatric emergency medicine and related topics.
  • Engage in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A subspecialty residency-training program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Emergency Medicine, accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or hold CCFP-EM certification.
  • Experience practicing in an Emergency Department with significant pediatric volume and complexity.
  • Eligibility for a specialist license, as determined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in pediatric emergency medicine.
