About the Role

British Columbia Children's Hospital (BCCH) is a leading acute care teaching facility and a major pediatric clinical training site for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). As a Pediatric Emergency Physician, you will be part of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, which provides clinical service to the Emergency Department of BCCH.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellence in clinical care to children and youth in the Emergency Department
  • Participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Division of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics
  • Contribute to clinical and health services research of the division
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings
Requirements

Applicants must have completed a subspecialty residency-training program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Emergency Medicine, accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or hold CCFP-EM certification. Those without subspecialty residency training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine must have experience practicing in an Emergency Department with significant pediatric volume and complexity. Applicants must be eligible for a specialist license, as determined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
