About the Role:

Golf Town is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Sales Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence in the Hardlines Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee customer service, sales, merchandise processing, and operational functions in the Hardlines Department.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Lead and manage a team of sales associates to achieve sales targets, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a high level of merchandise presentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of price changes, price identification, and merchandise setup and signage.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, manage stockroom operations, and ensure smooth flow of merchandise from stockroom to sales floor.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of merchandise and optimal pricing.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, new products, and competitor activity to ensure Golf Town remains competitive and innovative.
  • Participate in annual performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback to team members, and develop succession plans to ensure continuity.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and visual merchandising, to ensure alignment and effective execution of company initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, including safety, loss prevention, and cash handling procedures.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a retail environment or equivalent relevant experience, with previous management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a golf environment, with a strong understanding of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to meet a wide range of customer needs.
  • Detail-oriented and strong attention to customer service, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Prior merchandising and planning responsibility, with the ability to execute company standards successfully.
