Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department at Farm Boy. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and driving sales growth through effective inventory management and merchandising.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all customers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and rotation of produce, ensuring that all products are properly labeled, priced, and displayed.
  • Merchandising: Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales growth and maximize profit margins.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of produce department employees, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Store Operations: Ensure that the produce department is maintained in a clean and safe condition, adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze sales reports, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Education: Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate with customers, employees, and management.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
