Job Title: Welder-Fitter

Muma Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team. As a Welder-Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal parts and products using various welding techniques.

Work Setting

This is a permanent position in an industrial setting, working 40 hours per week. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Determine weldability of materials and operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Certifications and Licenses

You will be required to hold an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.

Welding Techniques

You will be required to have experience with various welding techniques, including resistance, spot or seam, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), fusion welds, stud, multipass, and spray.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

You will be required to have experience with arc welding machines, gas welding machines, and spot welding machines.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This position requires you to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods. You will also be required to have manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
