Job Title: Welder-Fitter

Muma Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal parts and products.

Work Setting

This is a permanent, full-time position in a fast-paced industrial environment. You will work 40 hours per week and be required to stand for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Determine weldability of materials and operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Certifications and Licenses

You will require an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.

Welding Techniques

You will be proficient in resistance, spot, or seam welding, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).

Equipment and Machinery Experience

You will have experience operating arc welding machines, gas welding machines, and spot welding machines.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This role requires a fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding work. You will need to have manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and be able to stand for extended periods.

Weight Handling

You will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
