Wildfire Risk Reduction and Rehabilitation Specialist

The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Wildfire Risk Reduction and Rehabilitation Specialist. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Cranbrook or Invermere, with flexible work options available.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple projects and lead a component of a major project or regional initiative.
- Develop and implement effective wildfire risk reduction strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with senior-level partners and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing, including drafting professional reports and briefing materials.
- Supervise staff and manage budgets and financial and contracts administration.
- Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a fully licensed Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC).
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a natural resource management related field, plus five or more years' experience working in a natural resource discipline.
- Significant experience managing multiple projects or leading a component of a major project or regional initiative.
- Experience managing relationships with senior-level partners and stakeholders.
- Experience and knowledge of conflict and dispute resolution principles and practices.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Experience with budget management and financial and contracts administration.
- Experience/knowledge in wildfire management practices.
The BC Public Service Agency offers a competitive salary, great learning opportunities, and a chance to engage in rewarding work with exciting career development options. Regular, full-time Professional Employee Association members are also entitled to an allowance to cover professional fees, a 7% allowance in Lieu of Overtime Shiftwork and Standby (taken as time or money), and start off with 4 weeks of annual paid vacation.
