Job Summary

BCIT's Auxiliary Trades Support Services is seeking highly skilled and flexible individuals to work in a variety of temporary assignments. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in different roles, including labor work, general maintenance, and mechanical work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve our workforce at various campuses, with placements ranging from a few hours to several months in duration.
  • Provide support where employees are absent due to sick leave, vacation, or to assist with heavy workloads.
  • Work independently and as a team member to achieve common goals.
  • Be called in on short notice and work at various campus locations.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service oriented approach.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 plus 6 months post-secondary education and/or training such as trades training.
  • Two years of general work experience plus one year of experience in trades environments such as construction or material handling.
  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and hand tools.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office package.
  • Valid BC driver's license.
  • Trades Qualification, Forklift and Level Two or Three First Aid Certification are assets.
