Job Title: Environmental Advisor

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and implementing OPG's environmental management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting sustainable practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain environmental management systems and programs, including waste management, contaminated lands, spills management, biodiversity, and emissions.
  • Provide expertise and support to generating units and functions in managing OPG's environmental performance, including interpretation and advice on legislation and policies.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies to obtain and influence conditions of routine permits and approvals.
  • Prepare and analyze environmental compliance reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance using performance and compliance data and metrics.
Requirements:
  • Requires an engineering or science knowledge encompassing subject areas relevant to environmental performance of power generation development, operation, rehabilitation, or modification programs.
  • Requires strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to coordinate technical and analytical studies on environmental issues and provide advice on results.
  • Requires experience related to environmental planning and approvals processes and in particular to OPG's environmental management system, programs, and strategies.
