Job Title: Environmental Advisor

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing strategic environmental direction and delivering technical and consultative services on environmental-related matters for power generation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and implement environmental managed systems and programs, including waste management, contaminated lands, spills management, biodiversity, environmental compliance approvals, and emissions.
  • Review engineering/project deliverables and liaise with the engineering and projects team to advise on environmental requirements and constraints.
  • Develop, maintain, and review environmental management governance and documentation.
  • Implement and manage EMS programs at the Generating Units and monitor and report on compliance and performance.
  • Provide expertise and support to the Generating Units and Functions in managing OPG's environmental performance, including interpretation and advice on legislation and policies.
Requirements:
  • 4-year university degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental Studies.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in engineering, environmental engineering, environmental studies, and environmental planning and approvals.
  • Demonstrated experience with provincial and/or federal regulatory requirements and permit applications.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
